SuomenSatu's policy for reservations and properties impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Dear Guests,
Please know that we are carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation and have precautions in place to ensure a healthy stay at any of our cottages both in Koli and Levi.
We want to thank you in advance for putting your trust in SuomenSatu as you plan for future travels. Below is an update on what we are doing, keeping your safety top of mind.
You should have confidence when you book a stay at any of our cottages that we are doing everything we can to have accommodations ready for you.
Given the impact of COVID-19 on how we work, socialize and travel, we have been adapting our cancellation policy to provide our guests the most flexibility we can offer during these challenging times.
We will allow changes for your dates of visit without a charge up to 8 weeks prior to arrival for all the reservations made before Ocober 1, 2020. You will be able to keep the same price as before if the new period would be chosen for the same quantiy of days wihin the same season.
We will allow cancellation without a charge as long as the  cancellation is made by Ocober 10, 2020 for all the reservations made before April 01, 2020.
For all guests making new individual reservations from October 01, 2020 and later on, cancellation and no-shows will be subject to the standard booking and cancellation terms and conditions.

COVID 19 - International Travel Restrictions and Flight Cancellations tells as follows:
"The customer does not have the right to deviate from the booking and cancellation terms and conditions and does not have the right to cancel their booking on the basis that the customer that made the booking or the guests are not able to arrive at the accommodation at the booked arrival time as a result of the travel restrictions imposed by Finland or the country of departure as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic. Travel restrictions do not count as “Force Majeure” events/circumstances, as international travel restrictions which are due to the COVID-19 epidemic are not unforeseen. In this situation, the customer’s
The above also applies in the event that the customer or the guests cannot enter Finland due to the cancellation of flights or changes in schedules. Flights may be cancelled and rescheduled due to the COVID-19 epidemic, and are not “Force Majeure” events/circumstances as these circumstances are not an unforeseen situation."

We recognize that the COVID-19 virus has required all of us to be more mindful as we go through our regular activities. Our cottages' health and safety measures cover everything from handwashing hygiene and cleaning specifications to the cottages cleaning procedures.
Cottages associates – and their own health, safety and knowledge – are essential to an effective cleaning program. Here are some ways we’re supporting them:
• Proper and frequent handwashing is vital to help combat the spread of viruses. In our daily meetings, our teams are reminded that cleanliness starts with this simple act. It’s important for their health and that of our guests.
• Cleaning rooms after guests depart and before the next guest arrives, with particular attention paid to high-touch items. We focus on the door handles, switches, bathrooms, key boxes and keys.
• Our laundry services are focused on the thermal treatments and ironing of our bed linen and towels.
• Both in Koli and Levi we use the medical UV irradiator-recirculators to disinfect everything in the cottages.
• Global cleaning of the cottages ventilation systems is implemented within the current period.
Event Notification: If we would be alerted to a case of COVID-19 at one of our cottages, we immediately work with the relevant health authorities to obtain the facts and guidance on steps to take with both guests and associates. We undertake a cottage recovery protocol that is designed to disinfect everything in the cottage including sanitizing the air.
We recognize that these are unsettling times and whether you are traveling now or in the future, we want you to know that your safety and wellbeing are our first priority.
Ystävällisin terveisin,
SuomenSatu
